When Does My Pet Need Vaccines?

Puppies and kittens begin a vaccination series during their first year of life that boosts their immune system. After this first series, adult cats and dogs will require booster vaccines throughout their lives to maintain their immunity. The frequency of boosters depends on the type of vaccine given. Most vaccines are annual. However, canine rabies is a 3-year vaccine and Bordetella is given twice a year. Our veterinarians will reevaluate your pet’s lifestyle at their annual exam to determine which vaccines they need to stay healthy, so your pet’s vaccine protocol may change as they age.
