Frequently Asked Questions
A few helpful answers before your first visit.
How do I choose the best vet near me in Plantation, FL?
Look for AAHA accreditation, Fear Free Certified staff, and a hospital where you see the same doctors visit after visit. Central Broward Animal Hospital checks all three — we have been family-owned in Plantation since 1987, and our veterinarians build long-term relationships with the pets and families they care for.
Do you offer same-day appointments?
Yes. Walk-ins are welcome during hospital hours: Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 7:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. You do not need to call ahead. You can also schedule online if you prefer an appointment.
What areas do you serve?
We are located in Plantation near I-595 and the Florida Turnpike, and families visit us from Davie, Sunrise, Fort Lauderdale, and across Broward County. If you are searching for a veterinarian anywhere in Central Broward, we are an easy drive away.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, we welcome new patients! For a limited time, qualifying new clients receive $50 off their first exam (available upon request, one per household). It is a great way to meet our doctors and see the difference a family-owned hospital makes.
What services do you offer under one roof?
Wellness exams, vaccinations, teeth cleaning, spay and neuter, surgery, diagnostics, skin and allergy care, and urgent sick visits — plus boarding, daycare, and grooming. Having everything in one place means your pet sees a team that already knows their history.
My pet is sick right now. What should I do?
Walk-ins are welcome during hospital hours—you do not need to call ahead. Bring your pet in so our team can assess their needs. If you would like to speak with us, call (954) 792-6323.
What does AAHA accreditation mean?
The American Animal Hospital Association evaluates hospitals against hundreds of standards covering patient care, safety, cleanliness, and medical recordkeeping. Accreditation is voluntary and only a minority of animal hospitals earn it — it is your assurance that we hold ourselves to a higher, independently verified standard.
How do your Fear Free Certified staff help my pet?
Our team includes Fear Free Certified staff, trained to help reduce fear, anxiety, and stress during veterinary visits. Gentle handling and attention to your pet’s comfort help make each visit a calmer experience.
Where are you located, and is parking easy?
We are at 200 NW 70th Ave, Plantation, FL 33317 — a private building with convenient on-site parking, minutes from I-595 and the Florida Turnpike. Getting in and out for an appointment is quick and stress-free.
Do you treat puppies, kittens, and senior pets?
Yes — we care for pets at every stage of life, from a puppy or kitten's first vaccines to individualized wellness plans for senior pets. Your pet's care plan grows with them, guided by doctors who know their full history.
